Battery update
The range of electric vehicles (EVs) in India has consistently been a major concern since they were introduced. Automakers are racing to solve this problem now that the Centre has taken proactive steps to expand the EV market.
By 2022, the Tata Nexon EV will house a battery pack with a capacity of 40kWh. Compared with the current model’s 30.2kWh battery, this represents a steep 30 percent increase. To accommodate the new larger battery, the Nexon EV’s floor pan may need to be modified and the boot space may have to be sacrificed, reported Autocar India.
Consumers will benefit from this trade as it will boost the range of the current battery from 312 km to 400 km in a single charge. According to India Car News, the new model will have selectable regeneration modes for the brakes, which will increase range.
Feature and Design Update
Tata Nexon EV 2022 is expected to feature 16-inch five-spoke alloy wheels as its design highlight. It appears that there won’t be many cosmetic changes compared to the current model.
It may be updated with disc brakes on all four wheels for better stopping power since the new model is expected to be heavier due to the large battery. The alloy wheels may need to be updated as a result.
Tata Nexon EV 2022 may continue to feature the same interior with a semi-digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch TFT display, a 7-inch touchscreen, as well as the latest connectivity options like smartphone connectivity and connected car tech, as well as advanced auto climate control, cornering stability control, airbags, child seat anchors, and ABS with EBD.
