Brief Introduction : Jaguar F-Pace SVR edition 1988
With Jaguar poised to make the switch to fully electric vehicles, the F-PACE is on its way out the door. SV Bespoke of Coventry decided to make the final touches to the F-PACE before it rides off into the sunset — and the results are stunning. The F-PACE SVR Edition 1988 was inspired by the XJR-9 LM, which wore a stunning purple, white, and gold livery on its way to victory at the 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans. Although the Le Mans car looks way cooler, that vehicle was mechanically quite similar to the XJR-9, which recently sold for over $2 million.
A very special guest will accompany the 1988 Le Mans-winning Jaguar XJR-9 during this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 8-12). A new F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 will be on display next to the race car, commemorating the British automaker’s victory in the most demanding motorsport event 34 years ago. In limited numbers, the SUV will be a tribute to the brand’s racing success.
An exterior tweak with Midnight Amethys Gloss paintwork, reminiscent of the car that won the 1988 Le Mans, is the highlight. For the 22-inch forged alloy wheels, a Champagne Gold Satin finish, also from the XJR-9, is also used. A different shade of gold called Sunset Gold Satin covers the body emblems, but is more noticeable on the inside where it is used on the steering wheel, steering wheel-mounted gear shifters, seats, and dashboard.

A tribute to that stunning livery, every F-PACE SVR Edition 1988 comes with Midnight Amethyst paint, Champagne Gold forged alloy wheels, and Midnight Amethyst paint. Despite the press images — some of which are kind of trippy — it’s unclear just how different the two gold hues are, Sunset Gold is also promised to accent the interior, according to the press release. It is clear, however, that production of this special F-PACE will be extremely limited, as only 394 units will be produced. This seemingly random number was chosen because that is the number of laps the XJR-9 LM completed on its way to victory lane in France.

A laser-etched Edition 1988 logo appears on each front fender of the Edition 1988 limited-edition model, as well as the exterior color. In addition, the door mirror caps, brake calipers, wheel center caps, and the R logo on the SVR badging are finished in gloss black as a contrast to the gold trim. Carbon fiber and leather upholstery are visible in the cabin, as well as ebony leather upholstery. Jaguar’s SV Bespoke division is responsible for all these tweaks.
There are no mechanical tweaks and the firm’s 5.0-iter supercharged V8 gasoline engine continues to provide power. As of 2021, the mill produces 550 horsepower (410 kilowatts) and 516 pounds of torque (700 Newton meters). It is paired with an eight-speed torque converter transmission. This performance SUV can reach 60 mph (96 kilometers per hour) in just 3.8 seconds. It can reach 178 mph (286 kph) at its top speed.
A total of 394 F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 models will be produced – one for every lap the Le Mans-winning Jaguar completed – for a starting price of $110,000 (excluding $1,150 delivery and destination taxes) in the United States. Jaguar dealers worldwide are now accepting orders for the limited-edition SUV.
