    About Kia EV6

The Kia EV6 is already available in dealerships, and reservations for the all-electric Kia are also being taken. As a CBU, it will initially be limited to 100 units. Deliveries of all-wheel-drive variants will begin in September, while deliveries of rear-wheel-drive variants will begin in December. In the Euro NCAP crash test, the 2022 Kia EV6 received a perfect 5-star rating. It is set to be released on June 2, with pre-orders for the EV beginning on May 26. This will be Kia India’s first all-electric vehicle, based on models from Hyundai Group’s specialized Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

    Engine & Performance

The Kia EV6 will have two engine options, both of which will be powered by a 77.4kWh battery pack. The rear-wheel drivetrain will be powered by a single electric motor that produces 229PS and 350Nm, while the all-wheel drivetrain will be powered by dual electric motors that provide 325PS and 605Nm. The EV will support rapid charging, which can charge the batteries from 10% to 80% in around 18 minutes. The rear-wheel-drive configuration has a WLTP stated range of 528 kilometers, while the all-wheel-drive has a range of 505 kilometers on a single charge.

The new Kia EV6 is powered by a 77.4kWh battery pack that sends power to all four wheels and produces 321bhp and 605Nm of torque, or a 58kWh battery pack that sends power to the rear wheels and produces 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. The former and later have claimed ranges of 400 and 510 kilometers, respectively.

    Exterior

The headlight components are encased in enormous DRLs, and the top and bottom are designed to be mirror images of one another. It’s a pretty convincing aesthetic, and the entire unit is very interesting and stunning. A narrow faux grille is located beneath the bonnet, while the actual air intake is located at the bottom area of the bumper and directs air for battery cooling and the HVAC system. The Kia EV6’s profile is sleek and elegant, and at the top, the roofline merges into a spoiler that conducts air above and below its area while sprouting small wings on each side, all of which improves aero efficiency.

In order to maximize aerodynamic efficiency, the 19-inch alloy wheels have a majority of the surface area blocked off, giving you only a glimpse of the disc brakes and callipers behind. Ultimately, the Kia EV6 has a drag coefficient of 0.28, which is lower than the i-drag Pace’s coefficient of 0.29. The door handles are seamless units, and at the bottom, a character line runs across both doors before quickly rising to visually integrate into the highly dramatic tail-light unit that stretches all the way over the back. The sleek unit stands out and is complemented by the turn signal indicators and chrome trim below. The whole result is fairly bright and instantly defines the Kia EV6’s design.

    Interior

Kia has adopted a more known path with the inside appearance and layout, as opposed to the outside. The interior of the Kia EV6 differs from that of other pure-electric vehicles, such as the Tesla Model S or its sibling, the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Instead of a radical layout, you get a very functional interior with a nice dose of creativity, especially when it comes to storage areas, which are significantly larger and in unexpected places. For example, a spacious cubby beneath a floating centre console that can easily accommodate a large handbag. The storage behind the centre armrest is also rather deep, as is the glove box, thanks to a level floor and the HVAC system being relocated further forward — due to the lack of an engine.

The boot space has 520 litres, but due to the high floor, you’ll have to drag your bags in. You can also flip down the rear seats with levers in the boot to increase luggage capacity, and the centre armrest has a ski-through flip down for longer and slimmer luggage. Aside from that, the AWD version has 20 litres of storage in the front, while the RWD variants have a bigger 52-litre storage bay.

    Kia EV6 Features

The Kia EV6 comes standard with several features such as an embedded 12-inch instrument cluster, a 12-inch infotainment system, multi-zone climate control, vented and powered front seats, and a spectacular sunroof. It has eight airbags and a slew of ADAS systems such as automated emergency braking, blind-spot detection, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. It also functions as a portable power source, as it can power up specific appliances.

    To Conclude

Given the CBU route and performance level, the Kia EV6 will be pricey – expect an ex-showroom price of Rs 60 lakh to 70 lakh. Kia, on the other hand, will be unconcerned because the brand has a limited number of units to sell and this will be an excellent test of the brand’s price elasticity. As a result, getting these off the showroom floors might not be too difficult. Furthermore, it’s really easy to want one because it’s truly that impressive. Yes, the back seat isn’t as comfortable as it may be, but the car as a whole is fantastic. It has a striking and futuristic appearance, and incredible performance, and should have a vast driving range. It’s also well-equipped, and what’s good about it is that it provides all of the innovation of a pure-electric car. So, even though it will be expensive, if you want the full EV experience, the Kia EV6 must be at the top of your list.
