Mahindra & Mahindra, a Mumbai-based international automobile manufacturer, is taking its international car & bike manufacturing operations under the name “Mahindra RISE” today. As a manufacturer of utility vehicles in India as well as around the world, this company is well recouped around the world. Since the company was founded, they have made a fair share of the market worldwide. In addition to making cars, this company is also the only one in the country who manufactures, markets & sells TRACTORS.
Mahindra Scorpio N: The Big Daddy of SUVs
The existing Scorpio will be renamed as the Scorpio Classic, which will be sold alongside the new-gen Scorpio-N, which is due to be launched on June 27. After the launch of the new-gen SUV, we expect the carmaker to drop the higher trims and offer a mild facelift for the current Scorpio.
In the country, the Mahindra Scorpio N is one of the most anticipated cars. In the past few weeks, the new SUV has been featured in teasers, spy images, leaked videos, and much more. Even though the official unveiling is just a few weeks away, we continue to receive spy shots and leaked images. A video of the D-segment SUV’s seating configuration is the latest in this line of leaked information.
While parked on the road, a Mahindra Scorpio N test mule was recorded in a new video. The exterior of the car is completely camouflaged, but we can still see the second row of seats clearly. There are six seats in the variant seen in the video.

Mahindra Scorpio Engine
In addition to a petrol engine of 170PS, there will be a 2.2-liter diesel engine of 130PS and 160PS. There will be manual and automatic transmission options available. The gasoline engine is a 2.2-liter turbo-mill with 170 PS. The SUV will come with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. Mahindra will also offer a 4×4 drivetrain on both petrol and diesel engines.
New seat variant for Mahindra Scorpio
Scorpio-N captain seats will be installed in the second row, while a bench seat can comfortably seat two people in the third row. There are separate handle bars for arm support on the Scorpio-N captain seats. As seen in the video, the seats are foldable in order to allow for easy access to the third row. One-click tumble capability is expected on the seat, which makes it easy to operate with a single hand.

Additional features…
Besides the seating configuration, we get a glimpse of the steering wheel, the instrument cluster, and the infotainment display. This is in line with previous spy videos that showed the car. The Scorpio-N is likely to have an infotainment system borrowed from the XUV700 base model.
A very small glimpse of the new Mahindra Scorpio-N‘s boot space is shown in the video. This variant looks like it has a single bench seat at the back. As a result, you won’t be able to get split 30:70 seats in the Scorpio-N. The boot space with all three rows standing doesn’t appear to be very large, but folding the last row opens up a lot of room for luggage.
It has dual-barrel projector headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, and LED taillamps on its exterior. In addition to a touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, steering-mounted audio controls, cruise control, and keyless entry, it also comes with a multi-info display and keyless entry. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.
Scorpio N: All set for off-roading
Mahindra Scorpio-N is being tested off-road with passengers inside, as shown in the video. In the video, you can see the vehicle going through an axle twister that is also water-filled, proving that the test is both an axle bender and a water wading depth test at once.
There will be two engine options for the Mahindra Scorpio N. There will be a petrol engine and a diesel engine. Similarly to the XUV700, Mahindra will offer a more powerful version of the same engine for the more expensive models. As reported earlier, Scorpio N will either offer the same engine options as Mahindra Thar or XUV700. However, the company won’t be offering either option.
Mahindra Scorpio-N: Diesel Options
Mahindra is said to be launching a 2.2-liter diesel engine and a 2-liter petrol engine as options for the Scorpio N. Although these seem to be the same options as the Thar and XUV700, the power figures differ.
Scorpio N’s diesel variants will either generate 130PS power (for the base variant) or 160PS power (for the more expensive variants). XUV700, on the other hand, comes with either 155 hp (base MX variant) or 185 hp (rest of the models) of power. The base variant might feature the same diesel engine as the Thar.
Mahindra Scorpio-N: Petrol Options
The Scorpion N will be powered by a 2-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 170 horsepower while the 2020 Thar produces 150 horsepower and the XUV700 produces 200 horsepower.
It has been reported that Mahindra will launch a 4*4 variant of the Scorpio N. According to the report, Mahindra will offer a 4*4 variant with both petrol and diesel engines.
