Skoda, the Czech automaker, has officially introduced its new Slavia mid-sized sedan in India. Slavia replaces the aged Rapid sedan; however, it is bigger, more modern & more feature-rich than the older vehicle. The new model is based on the same MQB AO IN architecture as the Kushaq mid-sized SUV.

There are two petrol engines available for the new Slavia – a 1.0-litre turbo-3-cylinder petrol and a 1.5-litre TSI turbo-4-cylinder petrol. It generates 115 horsepower and 178 pounds-feet of torque from its 1.0L engine. You can choose between a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Volkswagen Taigun & Skoda Kushaq are powered by the same 1.5L TSI engine. This engine has a torque of 250Nm and a maximum power of 150bhp. Power is transmitted via a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
A 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated, 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine powers the new Honda City. The engine produces 121 horsepower and 145 pounds-feet of torque. The engines are available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-step CVT automatic transmission. The City is also available with a 1.5L diesel engine that produces 100 bhp and 200 lb-ft of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.
